Lash Lift & Tint

An eyelash lift is a way of perming the eyelashes so that they sit in an upright, curled position making them look longer and your eyes look bigger.

This is a perfect treatment for clients that like a natural look and do not like having eyelash extensions applied.

An eyelash lift usually lasts anywhere between 6-8 weeks and is waterproof so ideal for holidays!

Classic Lash Extensions

Individual Eyelash Extensions are a great way to achieve a fuller longer lash without the hassle of sticking them on yourself.

Choose the style you like, a length and thickness to suit you… maybe the classic natural look or mix with Russian volume for a hybrid effect.

Allow about 1 & half to 2 hours to have your extensions done, this is all dependant on how many natural lashes you have.

Hybrid Lashes

Our Hybrid lash treatment at KJ Cosmetics combines two of the best lash techniques: Volume (SVS or Russian) and Individual lash extensions (Extend).

By blending the benefits of both treatments, Hybrid Lashes provide you with both volume and length, creating a wispy, textured look that lasts for up to 8 weeks.

Russian Lashes

At KJ Cosmetics, our Russian volume lash extensions are designed to fill in the gaps between sparse lashes, offering results that traditional eyelash extensions simply can't achieve.

Brow Lamination

Brow lamination is basically a perm for your eyebrows, the procedure is very similar to a Lash Lift. This is ideal for ladies who want to tame thicker or unruly brow hairs and maintain a lovely groomed effect.

It will give your brows a defined shape keeping your hairs inline in the way they are set. The brows are usually brushed and set upwards giving a thicker, fluffy look. A brow lamination is then usually finished off with a brow tint.

Lash & Brow Treatments

A lash lift-and-tint treatment at KJ Cosmetics involves two simple processes designed to give you beautiful, fluttery eyelashes that last for weeks. The lash lift mimics the effect of an eyelash curler by bending your lashes upwards, leaving them looking longer and giving your eyes a more open, bright appearance. We apply a special treatment to your lashes to keep them in place, resulting in a fuller, bolder lash line.

Lash extensions are one of the most popular ways to achieve fuller, voluminous lashes. During the treatment, synthetic eyelashes are carefully applied to your natural lashes using a non-irritant glue. Typically, 80 to 140 lashes are applied per eye, depending on your desired look. This treatment can change the shape of your eyes, making your natural lashes longer and fuller.

Russian Volume lashes offer the same longevity as classic lash extensions, lasting up to 4 weeks with proper care, depending on your natural eyelash growth cycle. Infills can be done after 2 to 3 weeks to prevent patchiness as the lashes grow out. For added volume, we also offer a Hybrid effect by mixing Russian lashes with Classic lashes, combining the length of Classic lashes with the extra volume from Russian lashes.

What is semi permanent makeup?

Semi permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique similar to tattooing where semi-permanent pigment is put into the dermal layer of the skin to create the look of makeup, for example eyebrows, eyeliner and lipstick. It is carried out by a fully trained consultant using a machine and an ultra-fine needle to give effective natural results. It is done in two stages, the first procedure and then a top up 4-6 weeks later.
How long will my semi-permanent makeup?

Semi-permanent makeup can last for several years depending on your skin tone, many people have a top up each year to keep their treatment looking fresh, and this is at a lower cost than that of the main treatment.
What’s the difference between semi permanent makeup and micro blading?

Semi permanent makeup is done with a single fine needle and a machine whereas micro blading is done with a hand held tool to make hair strokes in the skin and the ink is then pushed in. Micro blading offers a thicker, straighter effect and can take longer to heal, while our process offers a smoother more natural look. Our treatment allows us to offer a range of techniques for eyebrows, shading as well as just the hair strokes. Using our machine also allows us to tattoo semi permanent lips and eyeliner as well, allowing a range of services from the same salon.

Does it hurt to have a semi permanent make-up treatment?

At KJCosmetics we use numbing anaesthetic cream before and during each treatment to make it as comfortable for you as possible. Most customers find the treatment comfortable and we talk you through the process at each stage. Although the process uses needles it is not a deep process so does not have the sharp element you may expect. There may be a degree of swelling but this does not last long and you shouldn’t feel uncomfortable.
Is it safe to have semi permanent cosmetic tattoo?

Yes semi permanent makeup is very safe, we use the highest quality pigments and at KJ Cosmetics hygiene is of the utmost importance. A new pre-packed needle is used for each client and for each part of the process; lip liner and lip shading require different needles for each procedure. After each treatment all work areas of the salon are wiped down with hospital grade steriliser and needles disposed of in accordance with regulations.
What if I have a reaction to a semi-permanent makeup treatment?

We do everything we can to avoid you having an adverse reaction. Before the treatment a patch test is supplied with 2 plasters, one with anaesthetic and one with the type of permanent cosmetic pigment we use. This can be given to you when you visit the salon for your initial consultation or sent out to you in the post after a telephone consultation, both in good time before your treatment appointment. These patch tests should be placed on the skin for 12hours and if any redness or itching occurs please wash the area with cold water and contact Kate at the salon so we can discuss this further. If there is no irritation caused by the patch tests we can proceed with your enhancement.
What can I expect during the treatment?

Before your first treatment we offer a full consultation, either over the phone or at the salon. We welcome you to visit us and see the facility before your appointment. During this initial free consultation we will take about your expectations, colour and shape of the treatment and arrange a patch test to check your sensitivity to the products. On the day of the first procedure we will numb the skin and then start when your skin feels ready. The treatment will take roughly 2 hours and then a top up will be done 4-6 weeks later. Before the treatment begins we work with you to agree the colour shape and position of the brow, eyeliner or lip liner and colour.
How will it look straight after the treatment?

Straight after the treatment your skin will be slightly red and swollen and the treated area will show darker than the healed result. This will all go down within a couple of days once the area starts to heal, the skin will calm down and the treatment will lighten. We wait for this to fully heal and at the top 4-6 weeks later we can always add more colour if the client wishes. Swelling of the eyebrow area is not noticeable after the first few hours. Mild to moderate swelling may occur with our eyeliner treatment but it does not affect your daily routine. Lips may swell to a degree but this settles after a few days.
I am going on holiday or to the Spa, when should I have the treatment?"

It is always good to keep in mind the healing process. We would recommend you leave at least two weeks before you plan that big event or to be on holiday. This allows your skin to settle down and the effects look natural before you set off for that special trip, the family wedding or a holiday in the sun! As with most skin treatments it is always advisable to not go straight from the salon to hot and humid spa treatments or other tanning type environments.
Can I have an MRI scan?

After semi-permanent makeup an MRI scan still can take place however please inform the MRI specialist as this can sometimes show up.
Can I have laser hair removal after a semi-permanent makeup treatment?

It is advised to avoid laser hair removal or the treated area as it can discolour the procedure. Talk to your LHR specialist if you wish to do so.
What will happen in my Micro Needling appointment?

A consultation will be taken place before the treatment to discuss what the client should expect and what they are trying to achieve. Once all consultation and medical forms are filled out we begin to cleanse the skin removing all makeup. We then apply an anaesthetic numbing cream to the area for a more comfortable procedure, this will be left for roughly 20 mins. Within this time, you will discuss with the therapist whether you will have a derma roller or derma pen for your treatment, this can vary due to what area of skin we are treating. A serum will then be applied which will be worked into the skin whilst needling. We will begin by slowly needling around the face 3 times, this can sometimes cause a slight redness. A cooling mask will be applied after and left for 20 mins to calm the skin. Finally, moisturiser will be applied to protect the treated area.
How long does it take for semi-permanent makeup to heal?

Semi-permanent makeup takes 4-6 weeks to heal which is when we will do the top up treatment. Over the first week of healing you may experience some dryness and itchiness in the treatment area however a cream is given to you to apply daily. It is important to not touch or pick the area to avoid infection.
How long does it take for semi-permanent makeup to be done?

When getting either your eyebrows, Lips or eyeliner done we usually allow 2 and a half hours for each client. Before the first treatment a thorough consultation will be taken place to understand what the client is looking for and what we will do throughout the procedure. When we do the top up treatment 4-6 weeks later this is usually quicker than the first.
Do my eyebrows need to be shaven off like normal tattoos?

No. We will never shave any hair off before tattooing we simply tattoo through the hair as this gives a more natural look. The only time we may pluck away hair is if it sits outside of the eyebrow shape.
Does semi-permanent makeup cause hair loss?

No. Semi-permanent makeup does not cause any hair loss, neither does it help with hair growth. The tattoo will mix with the natural hair to give realistic results.
What should I do before having semi-permanent makeup?

Avoid alcohol for 24hours Do not take ibuprofen for 24hours Do not wax thread or tweeze the area Make sure you have done your patch test
Can you go in the sun after semi-permanent makeup?

After semi-permanent makeup you should avoid direct sunlight and sunbeds for 30 days! This will cause the pigment to fade and change the look of how the treatment has been done. Even after the area has healed, we strongly advise you to put factor 50 on the area when in direct sunlight to avoid further fading.
Can I have semi-permanent makeup while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Unfortunately, you are unable to have semi-permanent makeup while pregnant or breastfeeding due to there being slight risk of infection as the skin is being broken. Although there is very little chance of this happening if the client was to touch or wear makeup over the treatment and an infection was to occur there is a chance the baby could pick up a secondary infection.
Can diabetics have semi-permanent makeup?

People with diabetes are fine to have semi-permanent makeup however before the treatment they need to be sure that their diabetes is well under control. For example someone with high blood sugar levels can have complications with the healing process.
