Top 5 Laser Hair Removal Preparation Tips
Before your treatment you will need to shave we suggest within 12 hours before your treatment. This will remove the top layer of hair growth which will avoid any stinging during the procedure. Laser is different to waxing and epilating where you need need to see the outer growth of the hair to remove it.
Its vital that you are free of any fake tan and it’s important not to undergo sun or tanning bed exposure before your laser treatment. Wear a high factor SPF and keep the skin moisturised. The reason tanning can cause a problem is because we suit your treatment to your skin level using the Fitzpatrick Scale. If you have tanned your skin this will alter your level and change how successful the treatment is for you. Please talk to our team if you are unsure.
The most important rule of all! Do not wax, pluck or epilate before your laser hair removal treatment. The laser needs to penetrate the hair bed and it still need to be there. Shaving is acceptable as this does not eliminate the hair follicle beneath the surface of the skin.
The day of your treatment make sure your skin Is clean, dry and free from any cosmetics, lotions or deodorants.
Wear loose clothing to your appointment so that you can easily expose the areas to be treated and feel comfortable after the session.
