KJ COSMETICS SPECIALISTS IN THREAD VEIN REMOVAL
Laser Thread Vein Removal
Thread vein removal is a treatment designed to reduce or eliminate the appearance of small, visible veins often called “spider veins” that typically develop on the face or legs. These veins can be red, blue, or purple and are usually close to the skin's surface.
At KJ Cosmetics, we use the advanced Duetto MT Evo laser to target these thread veins safely and effectively, breaking down the visible veins to be naturally reabsorbed by the body. This non-invasive treatment helps restore a smoother, more even skin tone.

TREATMENT PROCESS
CONSULTATION
Before your first thread vein removal session, you will need to have a full consultation and patch test. This initial appointment at our salon allows us to assess the area being treated and confirm that laser treatment is the right choice for you.
Even if you’ve had thread vein treatment or a patch test elsewhere, we’ll need to conduct another one, as skin sensitivity and suitability can vary, and not all machines provide the same level of treatment.
During the consultation, you will complete a medical health form, a laser consent form, and a Fitzpatrick Scale form. This helps us determine your skin type and suitability for the treatment, ensuring safe and effective results.
Our Duetto MT Evo laser offers advanced technology to treat a range of skin types, from type 1 to 6 (I-VI) on the Fitzpatrick scale, providing high-quality care for thread vein removal.
LASER TREATMENT
Once we’ve confirmed your skin is suitable for thread vein removal, we can schedule your first treatment session. The number of sessions required will vary depending on the size and severity of the thread veins, with most clients seeing significant improvement after just a few sessions.
For optimal results, sessions are typically spaced 4 weeks apart. As treatment progresses, we may recommend extending the interval to 6 weeks to allow the skin to fully respond and maximise the effectiveness of each session.
Each session targets the veins specifically, with the laser breaking down visible veins so the body can naturally reabsorb them over time. This gradual process provides a noticeable reduction in thread veins with each session.
PATCH TEST
Ahead of your patch test for thread vein removal you won't need any special preparation but it’s essential to avoid tanning or sun exposure on the area for a few days. This ensures that we can accurately assess your skin's reaction to the treatment.
During the patch test, we’ll consider your skin type and apply 2–3 laser pulses (or “shots”) to the treatment area to check for any skin reaction. A slight redness or warmth is common, though most people experience no visible reaction. Following the patch test, we’ll leave the area for at least 24 hours to confirm there are no further reactions, ensuring the treatment is safe and suitable for your skin type.
AFTER TREATMENT CARE
Once you begin your thread vein removal treatment, it’s important to follow specific aftercare steps to ensure the best results. Avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight, and refrain from using sunbeds.
For the first few days post-treatment, keep showers lukewarm and avoid applying products like deodorants or perfumes to the treated area, as these can irritate the skin.
Additionally, it’s crucial not to use any exfoliating treatments or harsh skin products on the area until fully healed. For a full list of pre- and post-treatment recommendations, please refer to our pre- and post-care page or consult the detailed guidelines provided at your appointment.
